Shootout in Sinaloa

I did a family photo shoot at the beach last evening with Drew, Brittany, and the kids. We enjoyed ourselves, and ended up with quite a few “keepers” in a short period of time. The girls were beautiful! London did her own makeup! The guys were “slicked up” for the occasion, and very handsome. It’s my opinion that for most of us “amateur” types, the best time for taking outdoor portrait style photos in Mazatlan, is the 30 or 40 minute time period prior to sunset. The rapidly changing light conditions will test your skills, and you will need to move quickly to obtain a variety of shots, but the results will be worth the effort.

All photos were taken handheld, with a Nikon D300, and a Nikon f2.8 24-70 lens with circular polarizing filter attached. For the flash photos, a single Nikon SB-800 Speedlight and Gary Fong Lightsphere II were used, “on camera”.

Thanks to Drew, Brittany, and the children! You guys were great!
